Leading with Curiosity
April 14th, 2026
10:00 am - 11:00 am
The leadership habit that improves decisions, relationships, and results.

Curiosity is one of the most underused — and most powerful — leadership skills. While many leaders are rewarded for quick answers and decisive action, the leaders who build trust, navigate complexity, and drive lasting results are those who slow down, ask better questions, and seek to understand before acting.
In this session, we’ll explore how people interpret situations at work, how assumptions form, and why they so often derail progress and collaboration. You’ll see how curiosity helps interrupt automatic reactions, surface new insights, and strengthen decision-making — especially in moments of tension or uncertainty. You’ll leave with simple language and practical questions you can use immediately with leaders, teams, and stakeholders to move work forward.
The Childcare Crisis Is a Workforce Crisis: What Employers Can Do
May 12, 2026
10:00 am - 11:00 am
Access to affordable, reliable childcare has become one of the most pressing challenges facing working families and employers. Across North Carolina and the broader United States, childcare costs have risen dramatically while availability continues to shrink. For many parents, finding care is not just difficult, it’s a barrier to participating fully in the workforce.
This growing childcare gap has real economic consequences. Nationally, billions of dollars are lost each year due to reduced workforce participation, absenteeism, and decreased productivity when employees struggle to secure dependable childcare. For employers, these challenges often show up as increased turnover, recruitment difficulties, and lost productivity, especially as more employees balance work and caregiving responsibilities.
In this session, we will explore the scope of the childcare crisis and its impact on employers, employees, and the broader economy. We’ll also review practical strategies organizations can implement to support working parents, from simple options like dependent care benefits to more comprehensive solutions such as employer-sponsored childcare programs.
Finally, we’ll introduce the Reten Childcare Benefit and discuss how it helps employers attract and retain talent by supporting working parents in finding and paying for quality childcare.
Join us to learn how forward-thinking organizations are addressing childcare challenges and building a more stable, productive workforce.
