Formally known as Stepping Up to Supervision Certificate Program
Are you considering stepping into a supervisory role? If so, join our interactive program designed to help you understand what it takes to be a successful supervisor. This course is tailored for non-supervisors and will prepare you for the expectations and responsibilities of a supervisory position. Participants will engage in lively group discussions, explore real-world examples, assess their current skill sets, and learn about the challenges and rewards of transitioning from an individual contributor to a supervisor.
The skills and abilities that make employees excellent individual contributors are different from those required to be effective supervisors or managers. As an individual contributor, your performance is measured by your personal output and achievements. However, as a supervisor, your role shifts to overseeing and managing a team, providing leadership and guidance, and ensuring that your team meets its goals and performs effectively.
“The High Potentials: Is Supervision Right for Me? course highlighted the balance between managing tasks and managing people. We had to set some real goals in class and then discuss them with a partner and get feedback. That was very practical for me. I particularly liked the section on motivation. I can really use the information to try and understand better what motivates employees.”
-Bethany Rose - Customer Service Manager, MTS Sensors Division
